Partying Hard

My little dance partner for the night :)

Dancing with my husbands grandparents, they were too cute!

This was the whole reason we went up to Seattle. My husband's cousin's college graduation party. So much fun, great food and lots of dancing. I pretty much danced the entire night (thanks to the very generous bartender.) I ordered vodka cranberries that were literally clear...You can see the effects in photo 6. I'm seriously getting down, haha!

Pike's Market

(First Starbucks EVER!)

So, I'm super losery and didn't get to take any outfit pictures while I was in Seattle (mostly because even though it was 60 degrees, I was in a parka and boots, and wasn't about to take off my coat for a picture) I really don't know how you cold weather bloggers do it, but kudos to you my friends :) These were the best photo's I could get of my visit to Pike's Market. Mostly because my family was speed walking through the market, and if I lingered too long to snap a photo, I would loose them, have a mini panic attack (flashback from being lost in a store when I was a kid perhaps?), and catch a glimpse of them stopped in the crowd looking back at me to see why the heck I couldn't keep up (see first photo above, with them all looking back to see where I've gone). Haha! But, seriously, Pike's Market is the only reason I would ever consider moving to Seattle. My mind was running wild with thoughts of all the marvelous sea food dinners we could cook at home, and all these perfect organic vegetable, and gorgeous flowers to set at my table. But then that would mean I would also have to endure the elements of rain and snow.... Arizona's not looking so bad...

Shining Happy People Holding Hands

Wouldn't really call this an outfit post, since I'm not wearing anything I'm excited about. On our way home, we took the PCH down through Malibu and had a scrumptious lunch at Neptune's Net. Then we spent a couple of hours at the beach. I layed out on the sand while the boys played some corn hole. It was super hot that day! I was super stoked to put my feet in the water and splash around, and it actually felt amazing. Was bummed I didn't have my suit with me.We also saw a small group of dolphins swimming close to shore. It was the perfect end to a perfect weekend :)

View From the Top

Here's the last of my Sedona trip.
On our second attempt to hike West Fork on Monday, we still couldn't even get near enough to park. So, we pulled of into an area called Bootlegger, and found a trail we had never done before. It was marked as strenuous... Let me tell you, it was the hardest hike I've ever done! It was straight up the canyon, and with the change of higher altitude, I was having the hardest time breathing. My lungs were burning, my calves were burning and the sun was burning. I had to stop every few yards to rest. It took us over 2 hours to do a 1.5 mile hike!! I felt like such a loser! Once we reached the top, it was well worth all the sweat. you could see everything from up there, as well as the fall leaves changing. (That is a huge deal if you live in Phoenix where the trees go from sort of green to dead). There wasn't a sound other than the wind blowing through the trees and the birds singing. I hope you enjoy the pictures below, and no making fun of my dorky hiking clothes ;)

I could not get over the colors!

So worth the view

Do you see that road at the bottom? That's where we started.

When You Walk in Jerome

Continuation of my Sedona trip: After a long hot day at the zoo, we decided to drive up to Jerome. It's an old mining/ghost town about 30 min from Sedona. The whole town is built into the side of the mountain, which looks pretty incredible. This place is a photographers dream. There are so many interesting places to shoot. My only regret was that I was sweaty and gross from being at the zoo all day and didn't feel very cute. Other than that, I thought the photos we got were pretty great. I coerced Candace into posing and being silly with me :). Afterwards, we got a drink at a little dive bar, and then pizza and appetizers at a small place called Grapes with a nice patio view (but unfortunately it was already after dark, so no pics)

We didn't even know we had similar cardigans haha!

It's Just Another Day at the Zoo

Happy, happy Friday everyone! Here's part 2 of my Sedona trip :)
Sunday morning was spent luxuriously sleeping in, drinking coffee and enjoying the cool morning. We had an amazing breakfast at this tiny little bistro at the Sedona Airport. we had lemon ricotta pancakes with fresh strawberries and whipped cream (and a side of bacon) as we watched the private planes land and take off. Then, we went to one of my favorite zoos, Out of Africa, in Cottonwood. It was a lot hotter than I had aticipated and we spent our day walking in the dusty dirt, eating Hawaiian shaved ice to try and stay cool, and looking at beautiful animals. Two highlights were getting up close and personal with the tigers, and feeding the wrinkly giraffe, Kebo.
