Life has been so, so good lately! The summer is flying by, we have plans to go to San Diego in a couple weeks, and I just can't get enough of eating good food and hanging out with my favorite people. Oh, ya, and working out. I'm starting to reach some fitness goals, and I'm so pumped about it. How's your summer so far?

something about california just makes me want to leave it all behind, live on the beach and surf. granted, i've never attempted to surf in my life, and i'm pretty sure i'd be terrible, but it doesn't hurt to dream. california also makes me not want to wear make-up or dress up, or pretty much do anything but sit, run, sleep, play by the ocean. to say the least, i came back a little more relaxed, tan and happy. thank you california friends and family for the great weekend!

in other news, i was nominated for the liebster blogger award by cutie pie steph ann over at guess who. she sent me a few questions to answer so you could get to know me a little better.

1|what do you love most about fashion? i love how it's always changing. i love that there are no rules. if i want to wear black with brown, it's ok. 

2| what is your favorite color? any and every shade of green.

3| how did you come up with your blog name? i originally started this blog with a friend. we bounced names off each until one finally stuck.

4| favorite vacation spot? tie between costa rica and hawaii. same chill vibe, huge difference in price.

5| what are the two things you cannot live without? my husband (is he considered a thing??) and chapstick

6| what is your must have party item? my partying days are way behind me, but on the rare occasion, lots of water to stay hydrated. 

7| who is your favorite actor? i don't know if i would call him my favorite, but again and again i'm mesmerized by leo dicaprio's performances. 

8| what is your favorite song of all time? "two of us" by the beatles. takes me back to my childhood.

9| what is your favorite food? any kind of italian or sushi (if prepared by the right person)

10| what is your best color? i always get compliments when i wear bright colors, mostly red.

11| who is your favorite shoe designer? i don't think i have one? i guess i will have to go with the two pairs i wear the most which are my tory burch flats and minnetonka moccasins - both for their comfort.

just a few snapshots of what life has looked like lately. i've been having too much fun with my new a beautiful mess app! it just makes taking photos feel brand new and exciting! i have quite the exciting two weekends ahead of me. the mister's family will be in sedona the next week, so that means we are lucky enough to join them for some yummy food and some hikes with gorgeous views. we'll be headed out early saturday morning, starting out with breakfast followed by wine tasting. i'm already counting the days...
