Microblog 03 | Family of Three

Jacqueline O.

If you know anything about me, you'll know I have been waiting to adopt a puppy since Nick and I were married. For so many reasons circumstances didn't allow, and the dream was put on the back burner. After over eight years of this, I had finally had enough. I was able to get my husband on board and used to the idea of having an additional family member to love and care for. It surprisingly didn't take too long after the decision was made to find the dog of my dreams - a little brown poodle named Oliver.

This Is What Makes Us Girls

I'm not going to list outfit details because I have no idea where half the stuff even came from :) We had quite the girly sister day. Painting our nails, doing fun hair and make up and dressing up for pictures. Cait was dying to try out the same neon pink that alot of you have been coveting :) We also had a blast taking these pictures! It can get a little boring posing by myself, using the same old poses over and over. It was fun having her around to act goofy with. And I love that you can really see the differences in our personalities, especially in the last few photos.

Partying Hard

My little dance partner for the night :)

Dancing with my husbands grandparents, they were too cute!

This was the whole reason we went up to Seattle. My husband's cousin's college graduation party. So much fun, great food and lots of dancing. I pretty much danced the entire night (thanks to the very generous bartender.) I ordered vodka cranberries that were literally clear...You can see the effects in photo 6. I'm seriously getting down, haha!

Weekend Bits and Pieces

What a jam packed weekend! So much going on but so much fun! We had Jac's little sisters grad party on Saturday... so much fun to get together and catch up.  Even though we both live in the same city its hard to get together cause we are on complete opposite ends of it... so we took advantage of the fact that we could get some pictures of us together! Although it was a little awkward with friends and family watching us while we did this in the back yard... now everyone will know about our blog!

On Sunday me and my hubby spent the evening with his family.  Me and his mom experimented with purple potatoes... has anyone else ever seen these? They are purple all the way through! We mixed them with regular potatoes so they came out this weird gray color... not exactly the most appetizing looking thing to serve! (That's me holding them in the first picture) The rest of the night was wonderfully lazy with a fire going eating fresh cookies from my mom in law (she makes the best deserts I have ever had) while we watched Love Actually.
I do have to comment on the last picture... I told my hubby that if he dressed nice I would put him on my blog... He is so a T-shirt and jeans kinda guy so anything would have been a step up! Much to my surprise he actually got excited and wanted to! Haha :) When we started this blog I knew it would help me in my fashion rut... but I never would have dreamed it would have any effect on him.... YAY!
Hope every one's weekends were fabulous!

Little Vase of Memories

Last time I visited with my Grandma, my mom brought out this beautiful little vase. This is a vase my Grandma has had since before I was born. When I was around four years old, I used to go to my grandparents house everyday. One day, my Grandpa started tinkering in the backyard, sawing wood and hammering away and my Grandma would go out there occasionally and help him. When I asked what he was doing, he said he was making a room. I didn't really pay attention to what went on after that. Until one day I went over as usual, and they took me out into the back yard. There was a beautiful pink playhouse with white trim. Inside, there was a table and chairs that were just my size, lace curtains in the window, carpet on the floor and a shelve with dishes. This little vase was on that shelf. I had the most amazing afternoon tea parties. My Grandpa was about 6'3", but he would cram himself into my little house and sit in my little chair and join me for water and fresh leaves. He was the strong silent type, my Grandpa, but I could feel how much he loved me. All these beautiful memories flooded back the moment my mom handed me this little vase. She said my Grandma had given it to my Nana when we all moved to Arizona. My Nana somehow knew how special this little vase would be to me and saved it for me all these years. My Grandpa has been gone for 17 years now. But I still tear up when I think about him. I'm so thankful that I have this one beautiful memory to keep with me.

This is my Grandma, Amelia, around 16. She's the one in the middle with all the attitude. I love this photo of her!

It's All Happening at the Zoo

Zoo day with my beautiful momma and little sis. As you can tell by my loosing clothing and pulling my hair back out of my face, it was HOT. That's right, fall won't really be here for another month and a half or so :(:(. We started off eating breakfast with the giraffes, and just had a relaxing day strolling through the zoo, stopping to watch our favorite animals and lots of talking a laughing. Aside from the stiffling heat, it was a fabulous zoo day. My favorite was watching the orangatans playing fort. It was the cutest thing! They had a sheet that they kept pulling over them and were playing underneath! Oh, and the pic with my sister and the baboon was just too funny. He purposely went and sat next to her and was watching her every move. Too cute! Hope you had a great Friday and an even better weekend!

You're the Nicest, Nicest Boy I've Ever Met

Today is the Mister's and mine four year anniversary. It is absolutely mind blowing that it has been this long! It seriously feels like it has just flown by in the blink of an eye. We've know each other for eight years, hated each other for several months after we met, became friends, became best friends, became more than friends, then became best friends forever ;). He is my everything and I seriously fall more and more in love with him every day. Anyway, enough with the ooey gooey :). We're not celebrating our anniversary until next month when we take a four day weekend trip up to Sedona where we got married. I'm so looking forward to this trip! Tonight, I think we're just gonna make some dinner and watch the new season of The Office and do some serious cuddling!

Passing the Time With You in Mind

My baby sister Lennon was so excited to be a part of this blog. She as recently moved out of our parent's house and is living with a friend. Needless to say she's been really stressed out and sick :( . Since she hasn't been herself and been able leave her mark yet, I wanted to say a few words about her.

She and I are a whole eight years apart. Growing up, we were never friends. The most interaction we had was me kicking her out of my room if she managed to sneak in. It wasn't until she was fourteen that we really started getting to know each other and became close. Around this time, I moved out, got married and moved across town. It was really hard being away from our newly found friendship, but we always made sure to keep in constant contact.

She is the most loyal and loving person I know in my life, and I'm so fortunate and grateful to call her not only my sister, but my best friend. I love you Babysister!!!
