Here's the look I put together for the 20s party we went to last weekend. I was really proud of myself for not spending any money on it, except for about $6 for the ribbon. I love theme parties, but to be honest, I dread the money I'm bound to spend on an outfit I will most likely not wear again. I was happy I was able to pull everything from my own closet, except for the gorgeous beaded bag, which I borrowed from a friend. All in all, I think this look was a success :)
Simple.

Note to self: don't lean up against a dirty fence and not expect to get dirt all over your clothes. I didn't notice the smudge till I was editing these photos. Just awesome :) It's been kind of a bummer of a week around here. It's been hotter than ever with excessive heat warnings. We spent a total of about five minutes snapping these before running back to the car for relief!
Here's a few of my favorite blog posts from the week. Enjoy!
I seriously need Maggie's adorable tank top in my life!
Carolyn's sweatshirt dress is such a beautiful basic you can style so many ways. Love how she did a throw back to the 90s
Blair just making me love the LWD even more
I think I may be trying this trick Lauren shared on her blog this weekend
Have a happy Friday!

i know it's summer, but i can't keep myself from pinning black and white looks. i just love how simple and chic these colors look paired together. you can easily look pulled together whether you're headed to work (look 2) or spending a leisurely weekend with friends (look 3). what's your favorite way to wear black and white?

we have this awesome event a couple times a year among my group of friends where we get together and swap clothes. i love it because i get to clean out my closet, and get some cute new things without spending any money. i got both this adorable midi skirt and polka dot button up at the last one. all over pintrest i've been seeing cute high waited mid's paired with crop tops. i thought i'd give the look a try by tying the button up at my waist, but without showing any skin.
i hope you're all having a relaxing and happy sunday!

i used to be one of those people who would only buy their clothes brand new. it was just the way i was raised and all i knew. it wasn't until i was married and on a budget that i began to explore the option of buying second hand. my MIL is an avid thrift store shopper, and she was kind enough to take me along with her for the first time. after taking home a shopping cart full of adorable clothes for about $60, i was hooked. i love the thrill of walking into a store not knowing what treasures i may find. what do you think, would you give thrift shopping a try?

we don't get too many cloudy days in these parts. so when we do, it can be really exciting. it usually makes me want to spend the whole day outside and just soak it in. plus, i think it give off the most beautiful light for pictures. i don't know about you, but i'm so ready for the weekend! we had plans to head up to prescott on saturday, but we're expecting a storm that may end up keeping us in town. so, i may end up staying inside baking and watching movies. what fun do you have planned for the weekend?

there's just something about black and white that makes me instantly feel chic and put together. i also think any outfit is made better with peter pan collars and sailboats :)
my husband and i spent the weekend at a local music festival her in phoenix. even though it wasn't coachella or sxsw (both which i still hope to attend one day), we had a lot of fun! i'll be sharing my festival style on the blog in the next week or so. have you been to any festivals yet this season? which is your favorite?

as of late, i have been embracing my more casual side. i'm usually not a jeans person. i feel more myself in a dress or skirt. but there's something about skinny black jeans. they feel slimming, and they literally go with everything. i also don't think you can go wrong with stripes in any form! what's your go to style?
Floral Noir
i don't wear this dress too often. although it's comfortable, i can't really do a day dress in black in arizona without melting into a puddle. so, i only have a small window in between winter and spring to get any use out of it. i'm so, so glad my hair has finally gotten back to this length. i can just do so much more with it. if i ever get the idea to chop my hair again, please remind me that i will most definitely hate it. have a happy friday!
