Ladylike Sunday

Yet another issue of a special Ladylike Sunday! Me and Jac were invited to a 20's themed prohibition party this weekend and just had to share the fun with all our friends that appreciate fashion the way we do! Such a fun night complete with gloves feathers and fringe...and maybe a little home made Hootch! ;)  All in all a hootenanny of a time! Hope everyone a wonderful weekend!

Day 'n Night

One of the many things I have loved about starting this blog is that it has totally made me look at my closet in a whole new way. I have been putting things together in all new ways and creating new outfits without breaking the bank! I got this blouse at a cute little boutique called the Purple Skirt and had so much fun styling it a couple different ways. For my day look I put it together with my comfy 7 jeans, sandals from Target and cute aviator sunnies from Forever 21... very casual, but perfect for a Phoenix spring day.  The same day I wore this me and the hubby had a very rare date night and I have very little time to put something new together, so I just jazzed up what I already had on! Put on a pair of Aldo wedges, traded my casual jeans for a pair of Forever 21 skinnies and voila! I'm ready for the night life! ;)
Hope everyone is enjoying the week... it's almost over, YAY!

Weekend Snaps

Who went to Cali and had a super fun weekend? This guy! It was absolutely perfect weather wise, which you totally can't see in the last two pictures (I thought it was going to be cold, so I wore a beanie. I was kind of committed) There was lots of family, food, and beach time. Just perfect :)
1 - 4) Eating at our favorite breakfast spot, right by the beach
 5) Neptune's Net in Malibu.
6) Friends and family (miss you guys already!)
 7) Me and my camera shy hubby
8) The best sampler platter ever!
9) Sipping coffee and watching the surfers
10) More coffee and acting my shoe size, not my age ;)

Weekend Bits and Pieces

So, I had a super fun busy weekend with lots and lots of family and food...and I didn't take a single picture! I hate when that happens. I was having way to much fun to even think of it. I guess that's a good and bad thing, haha :) So, these are from the last couple weekends. Hope yours was lovely as well <3

 1. Winter Dream Tea Latte set -  a little gift from my sister
2. My new favorite brooch which I've had for years and recently re-discovered
 3. Coffee and a heart to heart with my sister on a rainy day
4. Romantic fire with my hubby
5. The joys of working in a dental office
6. The yummiest homemade rainbow roll ever!

How was your weekend?

Weekend Bits and Pieces

I was a little under the weather this weekend (that's what I get for wishing for cold weather!) Needless to say, I didn't get all the outfit photos I wanted. Since sunset is now at 5:30 - the same time I get home from work, I try to do all my photos during the weekend. Just don't ask me to share what I wore this past weekend, we don't know each other that well yet ;) Instead, you get bits and pieces of my weekend. I got this idea from Miss James over at Bleubird Vintage. She has the absolute cutest blog :)

1. A corner of my (finally) clean kitchen
2. Cooking something yummy in my favorite vintage pot that belonged to my grandma (more on that later)
3. Perfect Sunday night of Monopoly and Mexican hot chocolate
4. A peak of my husband's scarf in progress
5. My little fishie swimming
6. Hope you had a great weekend!

View From the Top

Here's the last of my Sedona trip.
On our second attempt to hike West Fork on Monday, we still couldn't even get near enough to park. So, we pulled of into an area called Bootlegger, and found a trail we had never done before. It was marked as strenuous... Let me tell you, it was the hardest hike I've ever done! It was straight up the canyon, and with the change of higher altitude, I was having the hardest time breathing. My lungs were burning, my calves were burning and the sun was burning. I had to stop every few yards to rest. It took us over 2 hours to do a 1.5 mile hike!! I felt like such a loser! Once we reached the top, it was well worth all the sweat. you could see everything from up there, as well as the fall leaves changing. (That is a huge deal if you live in Phoenix where the trees go from sort of green to dead). There wasn't a sound other than the wind blowing through the trees and the birds singing. I hope you enjoy the pictures below, and no making fun of my dorky hiking clothes ;)

I could not get over the colors!

So worth the view

Do you see that road at the bottom? That's where we started.

When You Walk in Jerome

Continuation of my Sedona trip: After a long hot day at the zoo, we decided to drive up to Jerome. It's an old mining/ghost town about 30 min from Sedona. The whole town is built into the side of the mountain, which looks pretty incredible. This place is a photographers dream. There are so many interesting places to shoot. My only regret was that I was sweaty and gross from being at the zoo all day and didn't feel very cute. Other than that, I thought the photos we got were pretty great. I coerced Candace into posing and being silly with me :). Afterwards, we got a drink at a little dive bar, and then pizza and appetizers at a small place called Grapes with a nice patio view (but unfortunately it was already after dark, so no pics)

We didn't even know we had similar cardigans haha!
