Weekend Snaps

 Happy Anniversary to me and my hubby of 6 whole years! We had such a fun anniversary this year.  Dinner on Saturday was at a restaurant called the Compass Room. It's on top of a hotel here in Phoenix.  Especially fun because the whole time you're there the restaurant is spinning around the hotel (veeery slow... thank goodness!).  Then we had a fun downtown and stayed there in the hotel... just a wonderful and fun night!

Then of course the Superbowl was on Sunday! We had such a fun time with family and friends and ate WAY to much food! Hope you all had an amazing weekend as well!

They gave us beer coozies when we bought a bottle of wine at a restaurant downtown... I thought it was hysterical and used it class up my wine cup at the hotel :)

Weekend Bits and Pieces

Is it sad that most of my weekends consist of eating ridiculous amounts of food?? I didn't think so either ;)

1 & 2) Saturday spent at an olive mill (a very awkward outfit post to come). There was tons of olive oil tastings (chocolate infused olive oil?? Was so yum!) and tapenade. My favorite was a pear and asiago bruschetta. In total me fashion, I scarfed it before taking a picture :(

3) Remember Chia Pets? Did you know that you can get them in drink form?? My new favorite drink: Blackberry Hibiscus with Chia. It's in a jelly like consistency which is weird at first, but grows on you

4) Pretty freshly picked roses from the backyard

5 & 6) Made breakfast for my Mister on a lazy Monday morning

(Blueberry pancakes cooked in bacon grease. Don't knock it till you try it)

Weekend Bits and Pieces

Apparently, this week's installment of bits and pieces is the Food Edition. I didn't mean for it to be, but I just ate so much good food the last couple weekends. Since I love food so much, I couldn't help myself from sharing it all :)

1. Sweet potato and regular french fries (served in a tiny shopping cart, how cute is that??)

2. A yummy burger from Delux Burger. If you live in the Phoenix area, please try this place! You won't be disappointed :)

3. A fantastic beer flight, also at Delux. The one in the middle was my favorite :)

4. You would think I had stuffed myself too much for dessert after all that food and beer...but no. We got gelato afterwards. How could we not? It was only a few steps away from us. I got chocolate fudge with caramel and pistachio.

5 & 6. The delectable Pane Bianco. It's probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Again, if you live in the Phoenix are, or are visiting, please check it out. There's the cutest little coffee shop also that's right next store called Lux. Again, you won't be disappointed :)

7. Jenny and I enjoying our lunch on our girly shopping day (my sister was with us too, she took the picture)

Weekend Bits and Pieces

Another busy weekend here in Arizona! I somehow finagled getting a 4 day weekend at work and I made sure to pack it with as many fun things as I could... here's a sneak peak into the fun!

I had a spontaneous trip down to Tucson to visit my cousin.  It was definitely a night that needed some ice cream and wine therapy... I was only to happy to be there for that :)  ...On a side note, how amazing are these wine glasses... they are just so 'Tucson', so it felt right!

 

1. I went to my first teppanyaki grill! I'm sure most people have done this before, but I had the best time.  If you haven't done this yet, you must!

2. I was inspired by Jac's super cute scarf so I started on mine! The gorgeous feline in my lab is Quinn.  She simply cant handle it when she's not the center of attention and will find a way to get it at any cost!

3. I finished cleaning my closet out.  This is what I was able to part with.  It felt so good to have more room in there! Although I am looking forward to filling it up again... me and Jac have a shopping day next weekend... MUCH needed!

I splurged on a few things for myself...

1. New booties! Such a steal from Payless!

2. To further my obsession with soup I picked up the Soup Bible... Only tried one recipe so far, but I see many soup filled nights in my future!

3. Another must try... EOS lip balm. It is my FAVORITE! Check it out here.

4.  Fun new nail color from Finger Paints. This one is called 'Hue Are You?'.

The cherry on top of my weekend sundae was spending Monday evening at my parents house with good friends while my dad and hubby serenaded us with music from the Eagles, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Bob Dylan and many more... Simply the best!

So, I had a super fun busy weekend with lots and lots of family and food...and I didn't take a single picture! I hate when that happens. I was having way to much fun to even think of it. I guess that's a good and bad thing, haha :) So, these are from the last couple weekends. Hope yours was lovely as well <3

Weekend Bits and Pieces

What a jam packed weekend! So much going on but so much fun! We had Jac's little sisters grad party on Saturday... so much fun to get together and catch up.  Even though we both live in the same city its hard to get together cause we are on complete opposite ends of it... so we took advantage of the fact that we could get some pictures of us together! Although it was a little awkward with friends and family watching us while we did this in the back yard... now everyone will know about our blog!

On Sunday me and my hubby spent the evening with his family.  Me and his mom experimented with purple potatoes... has anyone else ever seen these? They are purple all the way through! We mixed them with regular potatoes so they came out this weird gray color... not exactly the most appetizing looking thing to serve! (That's me holding them in the first picture) The rest of the night was wonderfully lazy with a fire going eating fresh cookies from my mom in law (she makes the best deserts I have ever had) while we watched Love Actually.

I do have to comment on the last picture... I told my hubby that if he dressed nice I would put him on my blog... He is so a T-shirt and jeans kinda guy so anything would have been a step up! Much to my surprise he actually got excited and wanted to! Haha :) When we started this blog I knew it would help me in my fashion rut... but I never would have dreamed it would have any effect on him.... YAY!

Weekend Bits and Pieces

I was a little under the weather this weekend (that's what I get for wishing for cold weather!) Needless to say, I didn't get all the outfit photos I wanted. Since sunset is now at 5:30 - the same time I get home from work, I try to do all my photos during the weekend. Just don't ask me to share what I wore this past weekend, we don't know each other that well yet ;) Instead, you get bits and pieces of my weekend. I got this idea from Miss James over at Bleubird Vintage. She has the absolute cutest blog :)
